The Illinettes is the official dance team of the University of Illinois.  Comprised of twenty-eight girls, we are a precision dance corps which focuses on pom, funk, jazz, and dance routines.  We are a very fast-paced squad learning a new field show, fully choreographed each week during football season.  Not only are we the official dance of the University, but we are also the dance team of the Marching Illini.  We practice approximately eight hours per week with the MI as well as at least four additional hours on our own.  We perform squad-choreographed routines at half-time of all home football games with the Marching Illini, cheer/dance on the sidelines, and travel with the band to one away game each year.  We are very grateful and would like to thank the Marching Illini for its support and all the opportunities we're given!

Before football season is over, basketball season begins.  Our practices are cut to a few hours a week; however, games occur much more frequently.  We perform at all home men's and women's basketball games.  At each game, we cheer on the court and dance during time-outs to Basketball Band music or taped music.  We also enjoy dancing during half-time at a few selected games.  We look forward to annual half-time performances as well as other local performances throughout the year.

The Illinettes is a student run and student choreographed team.  Our captains for 2008-2009 are Debbie and Colleen.Try-outs will be held in the spring of 2009.  Please see our try-outs page for more information.
